International Youth Day (IYD), observed on August 12th annually, is a United Nations initiative to raise awareness about youth-related issues and celebrate their contributions. The day’s theme is chosen in collaboration with youth organizations and highlights the importance of youth in achieving sustainable development goals.
Youth Network for Sustainable Development (YNSD), a consortium of youth-focused organizations, actively contributes to sustainable youth development by emphasizing the participation of vulnerable youth. YNSD partners with member organizations, policymakers, academia, and local communities to promote youth involvement in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas like poverty eradication, health, gender equality, and climate action. They organize conferences, policy dialogues, and sharing events to mark International Youth Day, recognizing the vital role of youth in equitable development and sustainable progress.
